Our Titan data acquisition sensor platform, in use since 2003 was one of the first commercially available mobile mapping systems anywhere in the world. Titan is capable of collecting highly detailed geospatial information from a variety of moving platforms, such as a boat, automobile or rail vehicle. This system was instrumental in the development of the mobile mapping industry.

Airborne 1 built its reputation as a cutting edge provider of outsourced LiDAR services to U.S. photogrammetry, surveying and mapping firms.  The firm began as an offspring of a consulting engagement with the Center for Technological Innovation - a joint venture of the National Oceanographic & Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and IC2, the premier business incubator and technology transfer program in the United States. The goal was simple: by taking lessons learned from NASA's very successful Tech Transfer program, the sister agency NOAA had a successful model to follow.

The original consulting contract called for Airborne 1 to explore the commercialization of LiDAR. Thirty years later, with thousands of sites and tens of millions of acres of LiDAR data collected and processed, Airborne 1 is a shining example of the value of this innovative program.
